The Cypriot tourism sector continues its upward trajectory, with newly released data showing a significant boost in earnings for the final quarter of the year. In October 2025, the island generated €458.6 million in tourism revenue, representing a 12.4% increase compared to the €407.9 million collected during the same month in 2024.

According to the latest Passenger Survey conducted by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat), this strong October performance is part of a broader, highly successful year for the nation’s travel industry.

Year-to-Date Performance: 2025 vs. 2024

The growth observed throughout 2025 has been even more pronounced when looking at the ten-month window from January to October. Total revenue for this period reached a staggering €3,431.4 million, compared to €2,983.8 million in the previous year—a substantial 15.0% jump.

Spending Shifts: Lower Per-Person Expenditure

Despite the overall rise in total revenue, individual spending patterns have seen a slight cooling. The average expenditure per visitor in October 2025 was €852.80, marking a 4.0% decrease from the €888.47 recorded in October 2024.

This suggests that while the volume of tourists or the length of stays may be driving the total revenue up, individual travelers are becoming slightly more budget-conscious per trip.

Market Breakdown: Who Spent the Most?

The British market remains the cornerstone of Cypriot tourism, though other markets show higher daily spending intensity.

Market Share of Total Tourists Avg. Daily Spend
United Kingdom 31.4% (Largest) €108.42
Israel 11.1% (2nd Largest) €132.12
Germany 7.8% (3rd Largest) €111.79

As the data illustrates, Israeli tourists lead the way in daily spending, contributing significantly to the local economy on a per-day basis, despite having a smaller overall market share compared to the UK.
