For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, Forbes has released its rankings of the best countries for retirees, and Cyprus has claimed the top spot. The magazine’s evaluation considered several key factors for retirees, including safety, healthcare quality, property and financial management ease, climate, visa and citizenship requirements, security, political stability, and cultural richness.
Cyprus emerged as the leading choice due to its notable advantages. Forbes highlighted the island’s low living costs compared to the US, a manageable crime rate, political stability, and a well-regarded public healthcare system. Additionally, the process for obtaining residency is straightforward, taxation is favorable, property prices are reasonable, and there are minimal language barriers.
Following Cyprus, Greece secured the second position, while Ireland came in third. The rest of the top ten includes Italy, Latvia, Austria, France, Malta, Portugal, and Spain. Each of these countries offers unique benefits and drawbacks, making it essential for retirees to consider their personal preferences and needs when making a choice.
