Tourism Revenue in Cyprus Reaches Nearly €3 Billion for January-October 2024

Cyprus generated €407.9 million from tourism in October 2024, marking a 17.7% increase compared to October 2023, when revenue stood at €346.5 million, according to the Cyprus Statistical Service. This growth reflects the country’s strong performance in its tourism sector.

Between January and October 2024, total revenue from tourism is estimated at €2.983 billion, an increase of 6.5% from the €2.803 billion recorded in the same period of 2023.

October Spending Trends
The average expenditure per tourist in October 2024 was €888.47, up 9.3% from €812.95 in October 2023. The United Kingdom remained Cyprus’s largest source of tourists, contributing 36.3% of total arrivals during the month. British tourists spent an average of €114.99 per day, outspending other major markets.

Poland, the second-largest source of tourists in October (8.1%), saw visitors spending €85.41 daily on average. Germany, the third-largest market (7.6%), recorded an average daily expenditure of €109.22 per tourist.

Tourist Arrivals and Length of Stay
In October 2024, Cyprus welcomed 459,106 tourist arrivals, with visitors staying an average of 8.4 days. The daily expenditure per tourist across all markets was calculated at €105.77.

These figures underscore Cyprus’s growing appeal as a tourist destination, driven by increased spending and a robust performance across key markets.
