Cyprus saw a healthy increase in tourist arrivals during the first quarter of 2025, despite a slight dip in March. According to the latest figures published by the Cyprus Statistical Service (CyStat) on Thursday, total tourist arrivals from January to March 2025 reached 446,596, reflecting a 7.5% year-on-year growth compared to the same period in 2024.
March Sees Modest Drop
While the overall quarterly numbers are up, March 2025 experienced a slight slowdown. 200,736 tourists visited the island that month, compared to 202,256 in March 2024—a 0.8% decrease.
UK Still Leading the Way
The United Kingdom continued to be Cyprus’ top tourism market, contributing 30.7% (61,545 arrivals) of total visitors in March. Other notable source countries included:

Why Tourists Came to Cyprus
In March 2025, 69.4% of visitors came for leisure, 15.7% visited friends or family, and 14.7% were in Cyprus for business. That marks a shift compared to March 2024, when 76.0% of visitors came for holidays, 13.1% for personal visits, and 10.7% for business purposes.
