The primary engine of this growth was the food, beverages, and tobacco category in specialized stores, which recorded a massive 19.8% increase in sales volume and a 15.3% rise in value. This indicates strong consumer spending on these goods.<\/p>\n
The Clothing and Footwear sector also performed exceptionally well, with its sales volume jumping by 15.7%, suggesting high demand in the apparel market during the summer month.<\/p>\n
While most sectors saw growth, the data revealed a few areas of weakness. The only category to experience a decline in the volume of goods sold was Cultural and recreation goods, which includes items like books, stationery, and toys, with a slight dip of 1.0%.<\/p>\n
On the value side, sales of automotive fuel recorded the largest decrease, falling by 5.7% compared to July of the previous year, a figure that can be influenced by fluctuations in fuel prices.<\/p>\n
The strong performance in July contributes to a positive trend for the year so far. For the period of January to July 2025, the retail trade value index has increased by 6.4% and the volume index has grown by 7.2% compared to the same period in 2024, confirming sustained momentum in the retail sector.<\/p>\n
