On Monday, 745 students in need were provided with “love packages” filled with festive treats and entertainment, aimed at bringing some holiday cheer to their lives.
Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos, along with members of the municipal council, representatives from Vali Amusements Ltd, the Peo trade union, and the volunteer group “Angaliazo me Agapi” (translated as “I Embrace with Love”), handed the packages over to school principals.
The packages included tickets to Nicosia’s Christmas fair, invitations to children’s events and performances, vouchers for holiday gifts, as well as a selection of sweet and savory treats and essential food items.
Families will receive the children’s gifts and food packages during a special event held in Ayios Dhometios.
Mayor Prountzos expressed his gratitude to all contributors for supporting vulnerable communities, noting that the municipality alone could not meet the needs of all children.
