Cyprus’s tourism industry recorded an unprecedented performance, achieving historic highs in both monthly and year-to-date revenue through August 2025.
August: A Record-Breaking Month
Revenue generated from tourism in August 2025 climbed to a massive €581.8 million, according to data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus’s Passengers Survey.
This exceptional monthly figure represents a 13.8% surge compared to the €511.4 million earned in the same month of the previous year (August 2024).
The increase in revenue was supported by a significant rise in visitor numbers, as 602,026 tourist arrivals were recorded in August this year, up from 554,923 in August 2024.
Cumulative Earnings for the Year
The strong August results propelled the cumulative tourism income for the January–August 2025 period to a record-setting €2.47 billion (€2,472.9 million).
This total marks a formidable 16.5% growth compared to the €2.12 billion registered during the corresponding eight-month period in 2024.
