The Larnaca Tourism Board (LTB) has been ramping up its efforts to enhance the region’s digital footprint by collaborating with prominent influencers. These initiatives are designed to attract international attention, particularly focusing on Larnaca’s marine beauty and local culture.
A standout partnership was with Sophia Hadjipanteli, a globally renowned influencer boasting over 1.5 million followers. As part of the “Ocean of Threads” project, Hadjipanteli explored Larnaca, showcasing its vibrant marine life and promoting environmental sustainability. The project, organized in collaboration with artist Michalis Pantelides and the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research, also featured an underwater art exhibition at the LEF1 wreck, located in Larnaca’s marine protected zone. Open to divers, this exhibition will run until the year’s end.
Hadjipanteli expressed her love for Larnaca, referring to it as her “second home.” She praised the area for its commitment to sustainability, pristine beaches, and rich aquatic ecosystem, sharing her experiences with her vast social media audience.
Continuing this influencer-driven push, TV personality Tonia Buxton is scheduled to promote Larnaca on November 7 at the 2ndCY Food B2B Forum. Organized by the LTB and the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce, the event aims to showcase the region’s culinary offerings to international audiences.
In addition to influencer partnerships, the LTB recently concluded a successful six-week online campaign targeting international markets. Backed by the deputy ministry of tourism as part of LTB’s annual action plan, the campaign reached over 2.5 million people and garnered more than one million impressions. It focused on promoting Larnaca’s new tourism branding and key attractions.
