Larnaca has emerged as the most favored European destination for baby boomers, according to a newly published survey by global travel company TUI.

A Hit Among Older Travellers

The ranking, shared this week on TUI’s official website, is based on reviews left by travellers aged 65 and above, a group the company says is now playing a key role in shaping tourism trends across Europe.

In total, the list highlights seven top-rated destinations, with two Greek islands also making the cut. But Larnaca stood out, earning the highest average rating of 8.76 out of 10.

Why Larnaca Leads

The city’s appeal among older tourists lies in its unique blend of coastal relaxation and cultural exploration. Visitors frequently combine beach time with excursions to inland gems like the Troodos Mountains, as well as traditional villages such as Lefkara and Fikardou, which are among the most frequently reviewed by this age group.

Growing Travel Influence

TUI highlighted that the population of EU citizens aged 65+ has grown steadily—now making up over 21% of the total population. This shift has led to noticeable changes in travel preferences and behaviors, and destinations like Larnaca are clearly meeting their needs.
