\nThe Deputy Ministry of Immigration’s 2025 budget totals \u20ac55.84 million, with \u20ac40.25 million (72%) allocated for operational costs and \u20ac15.59 million (28%) earmarked for development projects. These funds will focus on upgrading infrastructure, including reception centers and digital systems.<\/p>\n
\nIoannides reported a rise in residence permits across all categories, except for beneficiaries of international protection. By October 2024, nearly 9,000 individuals were repatriated, while asylum applications dropped to 6,123, a significant decline compared to 11,617 in 2023.<\/p>\n
\nAuthorities have transferred third-country nationals previously stranded in the buffer zone to designated centers, with plans for their repatriation. Policies aimed at integrating migrants into Cypriot society are also being developed to ensure a smoother transition for those granted residence.<\/p>\n
