\nCyprus is preparing to submit the final version of its unified National Plan for Energy and Climate 2021\u20132030 to the EU this December. According to Theodoulos Mesimeris, Director of the Environment Department, the country aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 32% by 2030, compared to 2005 levels, which equate to roughly three million tonnes.<\/p>\n
\nEnvironment committee chairman Charalambos Theopemptou voiced concerns after the meeting, noting that the proposed measures would significantly impact fuel prices, potentially straining household budgets.
