The Rise of the Dual Traveler<\/b><\/h3>\n

While total domestic and outbound trips both saw moderate increases, the most striking finding concerns the change in traveler demographics:<\/p>\n

    Mixed Travelers Surge:<\/b> The number of individuals who participated in both domestic and outbound trips soared by 30.8%, reaching 209,411 persons in 2024.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Outbound-Only Dips:<\/b> Conversely, the number of residents who only traveled abroad decreased by 6.6%, dropping to 169,525. This suggests that many Cypriots who previously only traveled internationally are now also exploring local options.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Outbound Trips:<\/b> Travelers overwhelmingly preferred rented accommodation, which constituted 72.7% of all overnight stays abroad.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Domestic Tourism Expenditure<\/b><\/h3>\n

      Total expenditure for domestic trips reached \u20ac300.1 million in 2024, recording a marginal 2.5% increase from the previous year. The money spent locally was concentrated in two key areas of the tourism value chain:<\/p>\n
