Tourism Revenue Surges by Over 27% in First Five Months of 2025

Cyprus’ tourism sector demonstrated notable growth in the first five months of 2025, with total revenue estimated at €955.8 million—marking a 27.2% year-on-year increase from €751.2 million during the same period in 2024. This data was released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus on Wednesday.

In May alone, tourism income reached €373.3 million, reflecting a 20.2% rise compared to €310.5 million recorded in May 2024, based on findings from the monthly Passengers Survey.

Visitor Spending Trends

Average tourist expenditure per person also saw an uptick, reaching €779.08 in May 2025, up by 5.7% from €736.82 in May 2024.

A breakdown of tourist spending by country shows considerable variation. Visitors from the United Kingdom—accounting for 37.4% of all tourists in May—spent an average of €97.77 per day. Israeli tourists, making up 9.4% of arrivals, had significantly higher daily spending at €153.11. Polish tourists, who represented 7.7% of total visitors, spent an average of €90.28 per day.
