Cyprus Tourism Hits Record Highs in October and 2024

Tourist arrivals in Cyprus for January to October 2024 reached nearly 3.73 million, marking an annual growth of 4.6% and a slight rise of 0.81% compared to the same period in 2019—a benchmark year for tourism.

October 2024 alone set a new record, with 459,106 tourist arrivals, making it the highest-ever figure for the month, according to the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat). This milestone follows a similar record in August, which narrowly surpassed August 2019 arrivals.

Compared to October 2023, arrivals increased by 7.7%, while they were 5.2% higher than in October 2019. Specifically, October 2024 arrivals totaled 459,106, surpassing 426,272 in October 2023 and 436,509 in October 2019.

For the ten-month period from January to October, total tourist arrivals stood at 3,727,196, up from 3,562,417 during the same period in 2023—a 4% increase.

The United Kingdom continued to be the leading source of visitors in October 2024, contributing 36.3% of total arrivals (166,588). Other key markets included Poland (8.1%, or 37,010 arrivals), Germany (7.6%, or 34,822 arrivals), Israel (5.2%, or 24,088 arrivals), and Sweden (4.1%, or 18,713 arrivals).
