A revised government initiative aims to tackle the housing crisis by offering low-income families access to building plots for their residential needs. This updated plan, spearheaded by Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou, is in its final stages of development and is designed to benefit families based on income-related criteria, according to Stockwatch.
As part of the approval process, the plan’s terms and conditions are set to undergo legislative review at the Law Office of the Republic before being presented to the cabinet for final endorsement.
The primary objective of this initiative is to allocate building plots in select communities to families with lower incomes, addressing housing affordability issues. Notably, communities included in recent local administration reforms will also remain eligible to participate in the program.
This strategic measure underscores the government’s commitment to providing equitable housing solutions for vulnerable families.
